Dozens of south of the border canines make a run for the border!

We are happy to announce that the latest bunch of adorable rescue dogs are all now safe and sound here in northern California. From scraggly Mexican street dogs without a hope in the world to pampered pooches gringo style, these four-legged Latinos are proof positive that hope is possible.

Thanks to everyone who contributed towards saving these beautiful dogs. Each one is an absolute delightful soul that so deserves the chance at love and happiness they have been given.

Meet a few of the faces from our most recent rescue.

Breta

Berta: Some of you may remember Berta’s sad story. She was found at the animal control center in Juarez awaiting euthanasia after apparently having been beaten fairly severely. However, you’d never know this dog had endured even one bad day in her life. She radiates happiness, trusts and loves all she meets, and has already been adopted into a home where she reportedly fit in from the moment she arrived. They adore her and tell us that she is well mannered, exquisitely sociable, and a delight to all she meets.

canelo

Canelo:

Canelo is beyond adorable. This sweet dog was slated for euthanasia in Juarez, Mexico after having been rounded up off the streets. These days, however, he is soaking up the good life in northern California, with his tales of south of the border woe permanently behind him.

checho

Checho:

Our boy Checho was found like so many dogs we rescue in Mexico –starving, fur so matted he could barely walk, skin covered in wounds. And, true to the resilient spirit of the Meximutts we all love, he never looked back once jumping into our rescue van. With just a touch of TLC, medical care, and a bit of time, Checho made a full recovery and is now a dapper dog living the life he deserves in northern California.

Fabian

Fabian:

Fabian is so handsome it should be illegal. Seriously. This gorgeous Mexican outlaw will melt you with just one gaze of those Latin brown eyes. Fabian was homeless just a few short months ago, rescued with a very painful venereal tumor that could have been fatal.

Fortunately, he was scooped up by the CWOB rescue, given the medical treatment he needed to live and the emotional support and love he needed to thrive, and is now a disease-free, scruffy lovable pooch that hasn’t a care in the world.

Negrita

Negrita:

Feminine. Spunky. Adorable. We are so grateful to have been able to save this darling little dog’s life.

rocio

Rocio: Rocio is a rare beauty. Her coloration is as unique as her lovely temperament. Brown, black, white, tan, cream – all mixed together in a wirey hair blend that we found unbelievably endearing.

robin

Robin:

Robin, who was suffering from a horrible skin condition and nearly starving when first rescued in Mexico, is now a very dignified, handsome poodle mix who radiates sweetness and is eager to love all he meets.

rachel

Rachel:

Rachel is a beautiful, young terrier mix that looks like one part Sheepdog mixed with three parts Mexican street mutt. A beautiful, soft spirit lies beneath that adorable exterior. Rachel has already been adopted out into a loving home in Santa Cruz, California.
