Education, education, ....educación!

Boy faceDuring our last spay camp, thanks to Rick Bachman, UC Davis Shelter medicine resident Dr.Barb Jones and CWOB’s own Christi Payne, we were able to provide Aprodea, with an informational talk that outlined contagious skin diseases in dogs and cats, shelter design and quarantine recommendations, and how to pick behaviorally and physically adoptable dogs for rescue.

CWOB is currently working on compiling an extensive Spanish resource that will help animal welfare/rescue organizations in Mexico with issues such as vaccination protocols, common contagious diseases in shelter animals, behavioral testing, behavioral enrichment, and other related topics. The Spanish materials will be made available on our website and will be distributed to groups throughout Mexico so they can strive to improve their animal care and protection efforts.

Boy's in anapraWe were also fortunate to have Krista Sweet from ARF join us, who distributed educational coloring books and toys to kids in the poor neighborhood we serviced. Krista is currently interested in coming back to Juarez to teach local advocates how to implement classroom humane education and to offer them the tools and knowledge to further their current educational campaigns.

Finally, we have also developed some new posters for Mexico that help to spread educational messages. Click here to download the posters!
