Mobile Veterinary Wellness Clinic

Compassion on Wheels: Ensuring No Animal is Left Behind

In Spring of 2015 CWOB undertook a capital campaign to raise the funds for a mobile veterinary wellness clinic that would enable us to expand our services for animals in underserved communities in Sonoma County.

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we raised the funds and have been working on converting the clinic ever since. With nearly all-volunteer labor, we’ve taken an empty truck and are turning it into the clinic of our dreams.

We’ve literally been laying down the floor, adding cabinets, exam tables, scales, running water, running electric lines,  undertaking the huge and ambitious effort of  making it all it can be.

And it looks amazing!  We’ve just got a few final touches to put on the plumbing, along with a paint job and one last permit, and we’re ready to roll!

We will be launching the clinic in March, 2014 and will be hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony and fiesta – stay tuned for details!

How will this impact what we are already doing?

We will use the truck to provide a space for us to carry out our clinics for low-income communities in Sonoma County

How will the mobile clinic be used?

The clinic will enable us to provide a safe place to handle the animals. We currently work outside in parking lots and are susceptible to weather conditions , etc. The clinic will give the animals and our volunteers a much more comfortable and secure work environment.
It will also expand our services by giving us the means to get even further out into underserved communities and set up shop right where the need is. In addition, we hope to increase the frequency of our clinics now that we have the mobile unit, increasing the total number of animals we can provide care too each year.
