16 dogs in need of rescue in Juarez, Mexico

As 2010 begins to unfold, a group of adorable Mexican mutts are patiently awaiting rescue south of the border. Right this very minute, each one of these sweet dogs, who have each come from backgrounds of great hardship, is undergoing voluntary quarantine in foster in Juarez, Mexico – getting the medical and emotional support they need before hopefully making the long trip north to California for permanent placement in a loving home. They are set to be rescued on February 14th – our Mexican Valentines.

But, we need help raising the funds for this rescue effort. While we have received some donations towards sponsoring individual dogs, we are still far below the amount needed to save as many lives as possible.

For just $100 you can sponsor one of these dogs and help us to cover the costs associated with their rescue, care, and transport.

Arco

Arco is a darling little long haired Chihuahua cross that was rescued off the streets with a large ulcer on his eye. The ulcer was treated, but Arco was left with permanently impaired vision. This doesn’t seem to get this little guy down, however, he is as happy and sweet as they come and is truly an adorable little scrappy street dog on his way up in the world.

Rodolfo

Rodolfo is a lovely young poodle that was rescued from the animal control center in Juarez where he was slated for euthanasia. He is outgoing, playful, and eager to spend the rest of his dapper life north of the border.

Guero

Guero {“blondy”} is a darling poodle that was rescued before being euthanized at animal control in Juarez, Mexico. He had been picked up off the streets and was covered in mange {a very itchy skin condition that causes hair loss} and quite thin when rescued. He is recovering quickly with some basic care.
