Leo: A story of Courage

Sweet Leo was rescued just two weeks ago.

Taken  off the streets by our partner organization Aprodea in Juarez, sweet Leo was so thin it was hard to comprehend how he was still alive. He also had a large infected mass below his chin that must have been causing a great deal of discomfort.

Yet, despite his condition, Leo’s eyes still had the spark of life in them that made it clear  he wasn’t ready to give up and that he wanted to fight his way back to health.

Leo  has been getting stronger every day.  He is gaining weight, is now acting like a goofy boxer and playing with toys, and his little nubby tail never stops wagging.

Leo is still in need of extensive care, but we are hopeful that he can make a full recovery.

Please donate today to our Special Needs Medical Rescue Fund so that we can continue to do everything possible to ensure that this amazing dog gets the care and help he deserves.

Please make an end of the year tax-deductible donation today and help us prove to him that every ounce of his struggle has been worth it and that happy endings really do come true.

A big thank you to the Sonoma Humane Society for housing sweet Leo for the past week. We are currently looking for a foster home for him near Santa Rosa, CA – must not be around other dogs for a few weeks, so we need a home without other dogs at this time. Please email us if you can help foster sweet Leo during his time of need.
