Our south of the border team received a call that there was a dog living on the side of a freeway in Mexico. When they went to rescue her, they were surprised to find not only her, but several newborn pups, hidden inside a wheel well and underneath a tractor at a construction site.
Sadly, the Momma dog was emaciated, had a life-threatening uterine infection, and almost didn’t survive. Thankfully, we were able to get her the lifesaving veterinary care she needed, support her with nutrition and fluid therapy, and keep her pups alive and well while she recovered.
Where are they today? Momma and her pups are safe and doing well in foster care. Having overcome so much, they are a tight knit family that are growing stronger each and every day.
