Prince William and Harry:

Mexican Street Pups Gone Royal

Life on the streets is hard for any dog in Mexico. But, for two young pups left to fend for themselves, it is downright harsh.

Prince William and Harry were rescued by a kind-hearted homeless man who had found them wandering the streets of Puerto Peñasco. He brought them to our clinic to see if we could help. They were emaciated, covered in scabs and mange, and severely dehydrated.

The next few weeks were difficult ones in terms of recovery for these two handsome fellows. They suffered severe respiratory disease and were very weak and compromised due to malnutrition and intestinal parasites. They were itchy. They were scabby. They were downright miserable.

They broke our hearts.

But, with time, extensive medical intervention, and around the clock TLC, these two pulled through.  Their eyes began to brighten, along with their spirits, until they finally became the playful, happy, spry little pups they are today. Happy-go-lucky youngsters with a long life of health and love ahead of them.

These two sweet souls are the face of animal suffering in Mexico. Their story is an all too common one. Alleviating this type of suffering through rescue and care - and preventing that suffering from ever existing in the first place through spay/neuter, access to veterinary care, and education - is the reason CWOB exists and why we do what we do.
