How many puppies does it take to make you smile?

There is little else on the planet more hopeful than the curious, innocent gaze of a puppy. Now take that feeling of hope and multiply it by 22 and you’ll get a feel for how much hope we’ve been holding in December!

We recently rescued three separate Mama dogs who had a total of 22 pups between them. These are their stories; stories of hope.

Sadie Rose

While driving our rescue van in Mexico, we got pulled over by someone who said there was a nursing mother dog with 9 pups at a nearby construction site. They were living under a pile of metal and needed help.

Check out this video of their rescue. Sweet Sadie, the Mama dog, was in critical shape when rescued – having given all she had to her 9 pups. Thankfully, we rescued them and she and the pups are now thriving and in loving homes.

 

Rozzie

We found Rozzie in an overcrowded shelter in Fresno. She was so pregnant she looked as though she would burst. We pulled her out of the cage, transported her north, and she gave birth to 9 adorable pups the very next morning.

Rozzie and her pups all went out to foster where they were allowed the space, safety, and care they needed to thrive.

 

Clover

While rescuing dogs in Fresno, we found Clover in the bathroom at one of the shelters. She had just given birth to four pups hours before we arrived. There she sat in the corner of the bathroom, with her four nursing puppies, greeting anyone who entered with a happy tail wag. We knew the moment we saw her, we needed to take her and find a loving foster for her and her babies.

Clover ended up with a fabulous foster where she and her pups were doted upon and loved for two months. The foster home even decided to keep one of the lucky youngsters and now the others, and sweet Clover, are ready to find their homes for the holidays.
