8/22 update:

We are hoping to rescue 22 dogs in need from Mexico this Saturday and we need your help. Each of these dogs has been rescued from harrowing situations of hardship and struggle and is now ready to make the trip north and find the loving home he or she so deserves.

We have been able to find sponsors for 10 of the dogs but over half are still in need of sponsors to help cover the costs of their travel. It costs just $100 to sponsor a dog and that entitles you to a photo of your rescue dog with his or her story, along with a a rescue dog certificate and a sticker.

Akira: Akira is a beautiful, young, gray poodle that was rescued after someone saw her being thrown from a car on a busy street. Akira endured several injuries, the worst of which were to one of her feet and required several toes to be amputated.

Akira has received all the veterinary care she needed to make a full recovery and is now a spry, plump little gal  with a radiant spirit. Her missing toes give her a bit of a swagger, but that just makes her all the more endearing.

Blue:  Blue is a stunning young Heeler cross with soulful blue eyes. She  waits on the sidelines to capture your attention, but once she approaches she captivates you completely with her gentle, loving head nudges and sweet kisses. Before you know it she is upside down, in your lap, asking for belly rubs and soaking up all the TLC she can get.

Blue was rescued off the streets with her sister, Gala. They were scrounging to survive, filthy, and clearly had been enduring hardship since the time they were born.

Coco: Charming. Dashing. Confident, but mild mannered. Scruffy and soft all at the same time.  Adorable. Adorable. Adorable.
Coco is a tiny little character, weighing in at just 7 lbs, who was rescued from the streets of Chihuahua, Mexico.  He simply can’t wait to head north and start showing off his good looks and incredible personality .

Diego: Is an incredibly sweet purebred St.Bernard who was tossed on the streets by his owners after he failed to be the guard dog that they had purchased him to be. Diego is just too sweet and too mellow to guard much of anything, poor guy. Once he found himself on the streets he didn’t fare to well and when we got him he was in pretty rough shape.

Fortunately, we love a sweet dog and so, too, will some lucky adopter.  His lovely disposition will make some family very happy and never again will he be punished for being such a lovely soul.

Leoncito is a gorgeous black maltese/poodle mix that was rescued off the streets of Mexico in terrible condition –thin, matted, and very hungry. These days Leoncito doesn’t have a care in the world, other than making the big trip up north to find someone to love. He has been recuperating in foster for several months and is now a striking young dog that has a very easy going, fun loving way about him – which will make him a delightful companion to some lucky adopter.

What else could you ask for in a dog? Tall, scruffy, fun loving and with chocolate brown eyes so soulful they take your breath away. This canine Cassanova was rescued before being euthanized at animal control in Juarez . Each day he has is a gift and he lives it to the fullest. He is full of life, spunk, and love and we are so grateful to be able to give him a shot at the life he deserves.

Chiquilin

This little dog has more personality than you can imagine. He’s cute. He’s squat. He’s unique.
He knows it!

Saved before being euthanized at Mexican animal control, this little Shitzu mix is the life of the party and prefers center stage. He loves to be loved and we can’t wait to find him a home where he will be cherished and adored.

Cookie
No one would guess this little Blond haired blue eyed gal is a full blooded Mexican street dog! This little cutie was rescued off the streets where she was working hard just to survive. These days, a few months after rescue and having had lots of TLC and recuperation, she mostly just runs around showing off how cute she is and trying to find the next lap to sit in.

Cookie wants nothing more than to find someone to love and we sure hope she does just that.

Paula

Paula was rescued just prior to being euthanized at animal control in Chihuahua. We are so glad we were there that day to rescue her. This little dog is gentle, loving, and sweet beyond compare. When she was rescued she had a horrible skin infection, but she is now doing great and has a full coat and an even fuller heart.

Maya
Sweet Maya is a young little poodle terrier cross who was rescued off the streets. This beautiful young dog has a heart of gold and although she was in rough shape when we first found her, she is now a thriving, happy young pooch with her whole life ahead of her.

Zula
This soft coated little terrier mix was rescued off the streets and is still just a touch uncertain about the good life. She seems cautiously optimistic about what her future holds, although she is gaining confidence and becoming more joyful with each day that passes.

Chiquita

At first glance, Chiquita may seem like a dog fresh of the show floor! This gorgeous white poodle is as good looking as they come and with her fancy hair cut you would never guess that she was once starving, matted, and struggling to survive on the streets of Juarez.

Not only does this dog look better, she also feels better. There isn’t even a hint of any hardship in her lovely character. She has a very sunny disposition and is an absolute joy to be around.
