Compassion without Borders is teaching, showing, and involving local animal advocates in Obregon, Mexico in our work for the animals in the hopes of helping them to develop sustainable, effective local programs.

We were contacted by the group Adopta Obregon , a passionate group of volunteers working to help animals in Obregon, Mexico. The group was asking for help setting up their rescue program, spay/neuter efforts, and overall guidance as to how to be the most effective advocates for the animals.

This happens to be our area of expertise and we were thrilled to help! We set up our fist educational Webinar on January 286th, wherein we spent several hours teaching the group about the basics of responsible rescue {disease control, quarantine, dangers of overcrowding,etc}.

The Webinar was a huge success and very well attended. We plan to have an additional session in March for the local government and animal control employees as part of an introduction to humane euthanasia, which we plan to implement in the area with the help of our new local partners Adopta Obregon.

In addition, key members of the local group and veterinarians will travel to Northern California later this month for hands-on and didactic training with CWOB cofounder Dr.Christi Camblor.

A few weeks later, in late March, CWOB veterinary surgeon Juan Jose Martinez will travel to Obregon for a weekend long teaching clinic {techniques of high quality, high volume spay/neuter} with our ultimate plans for this year including a large weeklong spay/neuter clinic in the area.

Humane reform is indeed possible with shared knowledge, expertise, resources and guidance. We plan to do every and anything we can to help the animals of Obregon, Mexico by helping the people there work effectively on their behalf.
